Meet The Co-Founders
Luke co-founded FirmKey in 2023 with friends and fellow Miami University alumni Sam Harrison and Joe Hamilton.
Luke has excelled in multiple business development roles, from shaping strategies for Groupon’s Leisure vertical in Chicago to co-founding and leading as CEO at FirmKey (US). He has cultivated key partnerships and completed deals with global accounting and tax conglomerates, technology startups at Series A and B stages, publicly traded companies, and not-for-profit organizations.
Luke is a Long Island, NY native with a degree in Psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he discovered his passion for understanding the intersection of human behavior and business.
Joe co-founded FirmKey in 2023 with friends and fellow Miami University alumni Sam Harrison and Luke Kohan.
Before co-founding FirmKey in 2023, Joe worked in the Transaction Advisory Services practice for BDO and most recently Intrinsic, LLC providing buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence for private equity clients and their portfolio companies as well as strategic acquirers.
In this role, he assisted clients with a variety of transaction-related services throughout the M&A process including quality of earnings, net working capital, and profitability analyses. Joe started his career in Audit at RSM in Chicago, IL where he was a member of the Private Equity Assurance Group.
Joe is a Certified Public Accountant (active since 2019) and earned his B.S. in Business and Masters of Accounting at Miami University in Oxford, OH
Sam co-founded FirmKey in 2023 with friends and fellow Miami University alumni Joe Hamilton and Luke Kohan. Prior to FirmKey, Sam worked for Brookfield Asset Management in New York City focused on fundraising and investor relations in the infrastructure sector.
He began his career in sell-side mergers & acquisitions advisory, predominantly focused on lower middle market healthcare companies.
Sam graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Business from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
